Chaffetz Threatens IRS Chief With Removal

One day after he locked horns with the White House over testimony by a staffer in the Iran nuclear deal, Rep. Jason Chaffetz (R-UT) is also aiming his legislative guns at infamous IRS chief John Koskinen.

Koskinen, who has become the veritable clean-up agent for the Obama administration following the IRS Tea Party targeting scandal, has now become the scapegoat for numerous problems and scandal within the agency.

And as those scandals have continued to pile up, members of the House Oversight Committee have had enough of it and are drawing the line.

Chaffetz opined about Koskinen that he has demonstrated a “pattern of conduct inconsistent with the trust and confidence placed in him as an officer of the United States.”

In response, Chaffetz proposed a measure in the committee designed to censure, remove and strip Koskinen of his government pension if he failed to further cooperative in the House’s investigations.

The committee cited numerous instances in which Koskinen lied under oath, failed to produce critical evidence in the investigation of Lois Lerner and in multiple ways has obstructed justice.
